Business Development Manager - Radio Tamworth
This is an exciting position for a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for the furthering of Radio Tamworth through researching and applying for relevant funding and gaining new clients. Some local travel will be required as the role will involve travelling to visit clients and the possibility of attending off-site meetings and events.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Researching and following up funding and grant suitability and availability.
- Selling adverts to local businesses.
- Setting up business meetings with partners and clients.
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with members, management team and third-party organisations.
- Liaising with the board of directors and the management team on relevant topics.
- Improve Radio Tamworth’s presence on social media.
- Responsibility for the development of marketing literature.
- Form relationships with local education establishments and create on-going links with schools and colleges.
The successful application should have the following skills:
- Good business sense.
- Some understanding of the field of community radio.
- An excellent understanding of fundraising and marketing.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivation and be able to work as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Good negotiation skills and persuasiveness.
- Confidence presenting to groups of people.
- Initiative and enterprise.
- Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information.

About Radio Tamworth:
We are Tamworth’s community radio station which has been broadcasting full time since October 2009, becoming Radio Tamworth in 2017 (previously TCR fm). Run not-for- profit, Radio Tamworth is targeted towards the young population of Tamworth and the surrounding areas and exists to work with local individuals and community groups to offer training facilities in radio and to promote community events and other community groups to encourage cohesion.

Salary: £15,000 per annum.
Hours of work: This is a part-time post totalling 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible and the successful applicant will be asked to be flexible and may include some work at weekends.
Annual leave: 15 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
Contract: 12-month initial fixed term contract, with potential for extension.
